Yes – all the Aunty Em dresses are machine washable on a delicate cycle. Each garment has a care tag that spells out the specific
care instructions for that garment. We understand that being a parent is not easy so we make sure that it is as easy possible to care for the dress without worry.

The tulle underskirts that with the dresses are also machine washable for easy care.

Follow the care instructions to get maximum durability from the garments.

Most of the tailored dresses are either cotton poplin or cotton voile fabric. This makes the garments breathable in the hot Australian climate.  We select fabrics that have a luxe hand feel so the dresses are comfortable and feel lovely for the girl to wear.

We want the Aunty Em dresses to be as beautiful to wear as they are to look at it.

The layered tulle underskirt is lined with cotton poplin for extra comfort and wearability.

Each product listing on the website details the fabric used in the garment.

Yes. Aunty Em garments and dresses are designed with comfort for the girl in mind and as part of that philosophy we have generous sizing.

This also has the advantage that the girl can grow into the dress, extending the time she can enjoy her favourite dress.

The tulle underskirt has a simple attachment method. In a garment that has a tulle underskirt, there are two buttons for underskirt
attachment. These are on the left and right hips of the dress. Each tulle underskirt has two corresponding small elastic hoops. These hoops slide over the buttons.

The underskirts also have an elastic waist band and the buttons and hoops additionally secure the underskirt so that it does not slip down.

All the prints on the garments available in the store are exclusive in-house prints. Each is print is designed by Aunty Em and are not available to any other designer girls wear brand. The prints give the “WOW” factor to the dresses.

Originally Aunty Em dresses were made locally in Australia. As we developed the process to design our beautiful in house prints, we discovered that they printing technology needed was not readily available In Australia. The cost to access this printing locally was incredibly high. The garments are mad offshore with our main printing and manufacturing done in Shenzen.

Aunty Em is located in the inner south west of Sydney. We currently run Aunty Em from our home. In a "dress" emergency we can organise a pick up if required.
